Movie Night

by Tom & Lynn Crowell

"Movie Night" is about the tradition of having, well, a movie night with friends and/or family, whether it's at home or going out to the theater. This tune is for getting kids excited and revved up about movie night, and should be sung enthusiastically. We did our best to make this song sound pretty epic and catchy… so catchy, in fact, that it will become a tradition to sing this before every movie night!

When singing the highest notes of the chorus, make sure your singers don't go flat. Singing with energy will help. And if they are compelled to move (which we definitely were), consider adding a little action, even if it's just bouncing or playing air guitar.

If you use this in performance, you could incorporate buckets of popcorn as props. (But do NOT sing and eat the popcorn!) Other visual fun might include movie posters, marquee lights, pictures of favorite characters or actors, or big shiny stars hung from the ceiling or walls. You could also go with a vintage vibe and use images of old cameras, film reels, ticket stubs, and so on.
