Free At Last
by Teresa Jennings
January 2013 marks the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. We thought it would be fitting to republish this song in honor of that occasion. Though it is about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., it is also about his famous recitation of the cry of freedom, "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty! We are free at last!" which is quite applicable to this topic.
Since the song was originally published in Volume 9, Number 3, we are only including the vocal part and lyric page in this issue. You can access the piano/vocal score, the background vocals part, the instrumental track that includes the background vocals, and a sign language PDF at our web site.
