Make A Friend

This early childhood song is about friendships that can happen in the classroom. They give kids someone to look forward to seeing, and share the fun and challenges every day. Talk to your students about the value of friendships, what it means to be a friend, and ask/give examples of what friends might do for each other. Then turn up the music and sing about it!

Simple enough to learn easily, this song also gives your students a chance to do a bit of moving together. There are suggested actions on the music which you can use as is, or adapt freely. There is also an indication of using the American Sign Language sign for the word "friend," if you care to use it.
