I Will Miss You
by Karl Hitzemann
"I Will Miss You" is a very soulful, (optional) 3-part mixed choral that will make each person who hears it think of any number of special people that have brightened their lives. While it does strike a pensive, melancholy tone, it is also meant to instill thoughtfulness and hope. After all, even when we lose someone close to us, or someone moves away, they are never really completely gone. Memories, photographs, lessons, and so much more keep them in our lives forever. While this song would be perfect for a Memorial Day ceremony or concert, it would also work well as a tribute for someone who is leaving or retiring.
Our arrangement features a full orchestra with a very expressive solo trumpet played beautifully by Joey Tartell. You could also do a very moving live performance with the provided piano accompaniment. This would allow you to ebb and flow as you wish. You can, of course, sing this song more simply by using just parts 1 and 2, or by singing it in unison. If you have an older, more experienced group, you might consider singing it a cappella.
On our web site, you will find a number of extras for this song including an a cappella version featuring all three vocal parts. There are also isolated rehearsal tracks for parts 2 and 3.
