Christmas, Christmas!
by Mike Wilson
Take an upbeat '80s pop style arrangement, flavor it with a countrified guitar riff, add jingle bells, and you've got a perfect song for your Christmas program! This will be a quick learn for even your young choir, with a scale-oriented melody line and only a couple of intervals of more than one step. Plus, the road map is easy: intro, A, B, A, B, A, ending. And to make sure it stays light, verse two pokes a little fun at the figgy pudding verse of "We Wish You A Merry Christmas."
It's important to sing this song energetically and with enthusiasm to really sell it. If you have jingle bells in your percussion box, you could have a select group play quarter notes on the beat of both choruses and the outro. That will definitely keep it active, not to mention, Christmassy!
