A Is For Aardvark
by Teresa Jennings
This is a short, sweet, and quirky little thing, not unlike an aardvark. And it only uses the note A on recorder. (This was a request for beginning students who start with A, so here you go!) The form is basic with only two sections (other than the intro and ending) that repeat. The rhythms are kept simple and redundant so players can focus more easily, and the dynamic is steady throughout at mezzo forte.
We've included the part for recorder on page 57 of this issue, but you can also download and print a copy from our web site in case that's more convenient. And if you'd like to follow along with the piano/recorder score, we have provided a downloadable version of that as well.
