Goin' To A Tree Farm
by Teresa Jennings
If a smile had a sound, it would be this sweet little tune. The light and happy bounce coupled with the cheery subject just makes you feel good.
Picking out a tree at a tree farm is one of the quintessential holiday activities for many families in December. This implies the use of real or live trees. But who is to say that you can't have the same experience looking for a tree at a tree lot or store that includes a variety of both fresh cut and faux types of trees? Not us! And if it enhances the experience, this song just might be the perfect accompaniment.
Simple enough to be sung in unison, there is an optional second part which makes it even more fun. It also helps to make it more engaging for older students. We've put an isolated rehearsal audio for part 2 on our web site.
Dancin' at a tree farm
If you use this song in performance, you might think it would make such a great movement piece as well. And you would be right! Our choreographer, Melissa Schott, has put together an instructional video and some teaching notes that you can use with your performers as is, or adapted however you like. It, too, can be found at our web site. And remember, extras like these are free for subscribers.
