Juntos Por Navidad
by Mike Wilson
"Juntos Por Navidad" (Together For Christmas) is a festive Latin song for your holiday program – with a bit of Spanish to make things interesting and keep your singers on their toes. Standard rhythm section, brass, and percussion provide the foundation, and comes right out of the gate at forte. The only Spanish text in the chorus is the repeated "Juntos por Navidad" and you can check out the pronunciation guide for that and the rest of the song on our web site.
The song is about spending Christmas with your family. The verse translates "all my brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents. Aunts and uncles, and cousins, too." Bring it down to a mezzo forte in the verse then back to forte on the repeated chorus. The bridge begins at a mezzo piano then builds to the forte at the last chorus. We always say Spanish pronunciation sounds better when you're smiling. So keep a grin on your face and energy in your delivery!
