Let's Go Tailgating

by Tom & Lynn Crowell

The joy one gets when attending a favorite sporting event is amplified by going tailgating. You don't even have to like sports to enjoy it. The delightful smells from all the food, the activities, the music being played all help you to get more energized for the big game. And then there is the "people watching" – looking for team jerseys people wear, the team colors, the face painting, etc. It's easy to get pumped up when you are unified with others who also share your enthusiasm for the same team.

This driving rock song captures all of that excitement and will be fun for your students to sing. There are a few things to keep in mind when performing it. In measure 26 the first time, "Oh, no!" should be shouted. The second time, "I hope our team's number one" should be sung.

The harmony (part 2) at the end is optional. We have an isolated track of this as an online extra. GO TEAM!
