Let's Get Going With The Music!

by Teresa Jennings

Sometimes all you need is a quick reminder. And that's just what this lively Latin tune is – quick! It's perfect for the start of the day, of music class, of a performance, or of any musical event, including our favorite, Music In Our Schools Month. At a whopping 30 seconds, it's short, simple and easy to learn for just about every age group. And while you don't need to do any more than sing it, you could spice it up a little by adding your own percussion. Cowbells, shakers, tambourines, rhythm sticks – whatever you have on hand will work nicely. Figure out a rhythm for each to play, or let them groove along freely.

At the end, there is a final "bop" written below the vocal staff on a low F. We have a feeling your singers will want to go for it 'cause it just feels right and it's fun. It will likely sound terrible, and that's okay. It will add to the, um, charm of the tune. Whatever you do, keep the energy high and the volume loud!
