Stop And Think
by Teresa Jennings
This poignant song has more than one element of focus for this issue. First of all, it features the cello, which is the instrument we are writing about this time. (See page 68.) Secondly, it brings a theme of thoughtfulness to mind, which could be used at Thanksgiving. Though it never actually mentions Thanksgiving, the sentiments are consistent with the holiday. You could also use it any time of the year.
Unless you have a cellist who can play the part, which is completely indicated on the piano/vocal, you will want to use the P/A cassette for this one. It provides a beautiful example of lyrical playing by a professional cellist. You can use it for your study of the cello in conjunction with the article in this issue.
