Serengeti Wind
by M.C. Handel
Your students are transported to Africa with authentic percussion instruments and richly overlaid 12/8 rhythms. They only need to play the five notes G, A, B, C, D, though, and their rhythms are never more complicated than quarter notes. On the recording you will hear ceramic udu and udongo drums as well as talking drum, log drums, basket shakers, shells, and Ugandan gongue bells.
Text is taken from Music K-8 magazine.
