Here We Go Looby Loo
arr. Paul Jennings
Thinking of all of that excess energy and adrenaline that builds up in early winter, we thought it would be a good time to feature a good old-fashioned movement song for your younger students. If you have the room, it works well in a circle, or several smaller circles. During the chorus (at measure 5) have everyone join hands and step or skip to the beat. To begin with, it can be all in one direction for the eight bars, but later, you may want to change direction halfway through the section. For each verse, you do what the movement calls for, putting various parts into and out of the circle, and shaking them. (The variations here can be endless.) You will note that to save space (and make it easier to see the song all at once) we have shown all of the movements at the bottom of page 48 and on the lyric page, page 50. For the final chorus, you can add a twist by having your circle move to the center and back, and then throw your hands up at the end.
