Rock Just Like A Rock
by David & Anne Ellsworth
Sometimes you just need to be silly. And what could be sillier than rocking like a rock? What a great opportunity for your youngest students to move freely and let their imaginations run wild. The rock group on the recording provides the perfect backdrop for your little ones to sway like treetops, wave like the ocean, float like clouds, and so on. But the real capper is when they have to decide exactly what rocking like a rock means to them. Whatever they decide is okay!
The third time through the song, there is a guitar solo which invites an extension of the free movement. If you prefer, you could have students sing the first verse again. Or they could just do the movements to the first verse. This song is all about moving and having a good time!
