Sleigh BAG

Inspired by a certain other familiar "sleigh" song, this simple ditty allows your young recorder players to focus on the notes B, A, and G. Definitely seasonal sounding, the tune will also give your performers a chance to show their stuff at your holiday concert. The orchestra and big band on the background recording will get your audience members tapping their toes, too. Even when the tune becomes swing for a few bars, your recorder players maintain simple quarter note/half note rhythms. Add a little pizzazz by having players wear Santa hats. Include a percussionist or two tapping along on jingle bells or wood blocks. The spoken vocal parts are optional, but oh-so-fun! Be sure to let players shout out with gusto (on your cue).
