Boompus 17
by Teresa Jennings
This decidedly classical sounding and simple piece was written for string quartet and Boomwhackers®. There is a modified piano transcription of the strings in this issue, but the real charm will come from using the recording. Our string quartet players were Phil Palermo (violin 1), Larry Shapiro (violin 2), Mike Strauss (viola), and Marjie Hanna (cello).
You will notice that there are two different BW parts (pages 62 and 63). The regular part is very simple and uses only the notes C, D, E, F, and G. It will allow beginning students to learn and play this piece more quickly. For your more advanced students, there is a more challenging part. It includes every note in the C scale. Either part may be played on regular or bass Boomwhackers® or on any pitched percussion instrument in C.
Note: Both parts are written out (no D.C. or Coda), so the format is slightly different than on the piano/vocal.
