School Is Coming To An End

Well, this one's going to be popular. Maybe as much with you as with your students! As much as we all love school and the learning environment, it's vital that we take time off to rest, have fun, and "recharge our batteries," as the song says. This is a deliberately simple piece, written mostly to the tune "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" so that every one of your youngsters can join in. The background funk and hip hop style are gravy that will guarantee enjoyment and participation with a smile.

The only thing we'd like to reinforce musically is the accented syllables during the spoken section at measure 22. We had our kids get a little sassy and really lay into the "re" of "recharge" for fun. And oh yeah, you might want to talk about "R 'n' R," in case they don't know that it means rest and relaxation. If they didn't, they will now!
