We Wish You A Merry Christmas
arr. Teresa Jennings
It occurred to us that while we've done many variations on this classic Christmas tune, we've never done a traditional one! So here it is. It's fully orchestrated with chord progressions that are familiar, so you could even invite your audience to sing along. There's an optional second part, too, with rehearsal tracks available online. (See details below.) Always great as a joyful concert-closer, we're hoping this will become an ongoing part of your holiday concert repertoire.
The one thing we noted when researching what would be "traditional" for this song is the variation of lyrics. Notably, the bridge could be: "Good tidings to you, to you and your kin." Or it could be: "Good tidings we bring to you and your kin (or "king" or "King"). Use what you prefer. Also, verses could be slightly different. To avoid problems, print the lyrics you prefer in the program for an audience sing-along.
