At my school, every classroom teacher produces a weekly newsletter that goes home with their students. However, with 340 students, there is no way for me to send home a weekly newsletter. The teachers also post their newsletters on a board in the auditorium (which is also the music room). I used to put an update on my web site, but I found it was much easier to put my own newsletter on the board.
I made a template with a graphic program, dividing the page into 6 boxes (I teach K-5 grades.) Then I just write in the information, such as what we worked on over the week, what is coming up, and current listening units. It is really easy to take it to the board and stick it up.
