I have a small closet that I turned into a "music library." I have books about composers and music history and books that have lyrics. I have six large decorative pillows for the students to sit on. I usually use the library as a center for when classes earn their "free" day. But now, students may use the library at morning recess. There is a "guest book" to sign their name and teacher's name so I can keep track of how many students use the library. Students already love to come into the music room, so why not encourage them to read more books! Some of them even bring in their math homework. This has been a big hit with my students and principal! Our school is very focused on reading and math right now.
