Regarding teaching fugues:
If you have a big staff on the floor (or even if you don't), you can have different kids represent the subject by standing in the various areas on the staff (i.e., soprano, alto, tenor, bass, and maybe even baritone).
To show their subjects coming in, have the students turn around with their hands in the air, wave their hands, or step onto the staff. For episodes, have a student go in between two of the subject people, mimicking the line of the music.
You can also have the class come up with a melody. Play it on the glockenspiels, then have someone noodle around for the episode, and play the melody on the sopranos, episode, altos, episode, bass, etc. Of course, you can vary the order of the voices coming in as not all composers go in order of highest to lowest.
