My students love the idea of a rap. So, this year as I was working with my older students to learn the lines and spaces of the treble staff, I came up with this little song/rap to the tune of song Queen's "We Will Rock You." They loved it!
- (lyrics/rap part)
- There are five lines of the treble staff.
- There are four spaces; no, not half.
- Always start from the bottom part.
- Now we will say the names by heart.
- (Chorus)
- E-G-B-D-F
- Are the lines of the treble clef.
- F-A-C-E Face!
- Are the names of the treble spaces.
- (lyrics/rap part)
- Every Good Boy Does Fine,
- This sentence helps remember the lines.
- And the simple word called "Face,"
- Helps remember the names of the spaces.
- Repeat Chorus
