Explanation of 7th Grade Chorus to Parents

Here is a letter we have prepared to send to our sixth graders concerning the seventh grade chorus. I believe it will be self-explanatory:

We are very excited to send this message to you concerning your child. We are in the process of improving the quality of Bolich's choral music program. Members of the 2006-2007 seventh grade chorus have been selected and assigned to chorus by the choral faculty, Mr. Marquette and Mrs. Rezach.

• Your child has demonstrated the joy of singing.
• Your child has been assessed throughout the 2005-06 school year concerning his singing skills.
• Your child has demonstrated that he is willing to try and is not afraid to learn.
• Your child has demonstrated the right kind of attitude that supports an ensemble setting.
Requirements for becoming a chorus member:
1. The first requirement has already happened. Your child has been selected by Bolich's choir teachers to participate in the choral program.
2. Your child will need to purchase a chorus T-shirt at the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year.
3. Your child will need to attend four evening concerts: (Dates TBA in September)

• Bolich's winter concert
• Cuyahoga Falls' All City Concert
• Bolich's spring concert
• The Barbershop Community Sing Along collaboration between Bolich's choral department and the Akron Derbytown Barbershop Chorus.

I read the information in this notice. I understand my child, ______________________, has been selected to be an active member of the choral music program at Bolich in 2006-2007.

I realize that I will need to purchase a chorus T-shirt and that my child will need to reserve four evening concert dates. (Please print the information requested below.)
