I use Boomwhackers® a lot with my littlest kids. When playing a game where someone gets out, "outties" play a Boomwhacker® on "Do" or "So." We often use them in rhymes that we normally would clap in.
In my centers, I have colored-coded music that they work together in groups of three or four to play. I use songs like "Old MacDonald Had A Farm" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Even my big, rough boys like to see how many songs they can figure out in one class.
The bass Boomwhackers® make a great substitute for bass bars or a bass xylophone in an Orffestration.
