Using the "Russian Dance" from The Nutcracker, I teach my second grade kids to dance in a squatting motion with arms crossed in front of them, except, where the accents occur. When they hear an accent, they have to jump up high with their arms wide open. It's crazy, but they love it. They learn not only what an accent is but the stereotype for a Russian folk dance.
