Save old CDs and use them for decorations for bulletin boards or hanging from the ceiling. I use all demo CDs and old rehearsal CDs for those purposes. Just use the "recorded" side out and put the "written on" side against the wall. I made a welcome sign in the hall one year with the title, "Look Who's 'Disc-overing' Music" and put a CD with each classroom teacher's name glued to the bulletin board paper. The kids loved looking for their class's CD every time they came to music. I used brightly-colored Sharpies to write on the CD (those are the best; won't rub off and WILL write on the CDs). Examples: "Ms. Jones' class," "Mr. Smith's class", and so on.
