When my kids win on scoreboard, they get to put a small CD on the bulletin board. (I made the CDs from paper, laminated them, and put magnets on the back.) When they fill their row with CDs (8 CDs), they bring their favorite CDs from home, along with treats for the class, and we have a music party. It takes 6-10 weeks to earn a party, and the kids LIVE for them! It also gives me a chance to see what they are listening to at home. It's a lot of fun to see them dance and play and let their hair down a bit. I've discovered a lot of dance talent for my programs by watching them at music parties. It does take up a class period, but I think it's worth it, and it doesn't cost anything.
