Materials needed: One Boomwhacker for each student. Process: Arrange Boomwackers in diatonic order C to C in one semicircle of chairs or on the floor (or rows of 8) Put one Boomwhacker on each chair in scale order and repeat the order until every chair has a Boomwhacker. Play a song that uses every color of Boomwhacker C to C (check Youtube or make a chart of Music K-8 Boomwhacker songs). On the last note say "Switch" and count to 8. Students move to the next chair and pick up the new color and play the song again. Do this 8 times. Student on end of row has to go to the other end of the row in 8 counts. This process helps the students to get to play every color so no student complains they only got to play a few times (usually B and D) and C got to play a lot! Students don't have to have knowledge of what notes are in what chord, so even the kindergarten can play the Boomwhackers.
