This is the sequence that I keep in mind when working towards two parts. I begin some two-part work in Grade 2. By Grade 3/4, they are quite successful with partner songs. My 4/5's are beginning to have success in two parts on Siyahamba - not perfect, but it's coming.

  1. Echo songs (where the echo is held)

  2. Add an ostinato

    • * prepare for this by doing lots of ostinato + rhythm patterns using b/p and rhythm instruments
