My kids really enjoy Boomwhacker® Challenge Day. I assign them to groups of 4-6 and give each group the Boomwhackers® they need to play a particular song that we've recently sung. Their challenge is to figure it out. After 3-5 minutes of chaos, I flash the lights and give them the first clue, which is always the first note. After a few more clues, I let each group get one book to use. For the last five minutes, each group takes a turn performing and explaining the strategies they tried.
It's always very interesting. It's also VERY noisy. I have one sub who always wants to do this when I'm out.
