I make overheads and charts and color the notes with the same color as the Boomwhacker® color. I also have charts such as for non-pitched instruments, so when a Boomwhacker® player plays, he/she reads only one line. There might be 3 or 4 lines, and these are all in the color of the Boomwhacker®, and they include rests, half notes, bar lines, etc.
Red 4I I d / I I I I/ I d I/4The line in the example would all be done in a red felt. Write the next line and color note below that and write the color on it. When doing most of my composing, I use Pentatonic because it sounds nice. Once you have the charts, tape them onto wrapping paper tubes and keep them in a long box so you can reuse them. (I even have them laminated now.)
