One of the activities I like to do with Vivaldi is listen to the first section of Winter, the "Allegro non molto" (it's 3:32 minutes on my CD). The kids imitate how I keep the beat... 8 beats tapping my head, 8 beats tapping my shoulders, etc. Where the music starts to build, I work the beat up my body (knees 8 beats, thigh 8 beats, etc.) until we're above our heads. And then if you listen to it, there are 2 sections where we heartily clap to the beat - you'll know when you hear it. It makes you want to clap!!!
The kids love doing this... they're keeping the beat, appreciating his music, watching me intently, and feeling the emotion of it all at once.
