Here a few bulletin board ideas and photos I thought I would share.
Comic Corner - Students bring in comics related to music in one way or another. Students who bring me a music comic get a small treat! No duplicates are accepted - so it makes them look at the board. There are some real treasures to be found! Some of them make me laugh every day!
Music In My Life - 5th and 6th grade students did this project. I gave them a list of items to include on a poster that reflected "Music In My Life." They included a photo of themselves... listed radio stations they listen to.... styles/genres of music they listen to or like... artists they listen to... concerts, etc. that they have attended... performances they themselves have done... instruments they play/played/or would like to play. The "way" they created their poster was completely up to them. I received some very interesting and informative posters!
Broadway Musicals - 7th and 8th grade students did this project. They were allowed to work with a partner. No duplicate assignments, so we drew numbers to see what group would choose their musical first. They needed to include the Broadway title and debut date, list performers' names, list 3-5 interesting facts, list song titles, and have photos or pictures. There were some absolutely outstanding posters.
Famous Artists - 7th and 8th grade students did this project. They were allowed to work with a partner. No duplicate assignments, so we drew numbers to see what group would choose their artist first. They needed to include the artist/group name(s), birth date(s), map showing place of birth and where they reside now, 3-5 interesting facts, instruments played (or vocalist), song title associated with artist/group. I am constantly impressed with what I get from these students.
