Dear List,
Here's an important reminder about posting videos on YouTube. If you
have a YouTube account and use any of our music on it, please verify
that you are in compliance.
Any videos with Plank Road Publishing music - except videos of your
students' performances - must be shared ONLY with your students, so the
videos (and playlists, if applicable) MUST be set to unlisted or
private. If you are unsure how to set a video to unlisted, an internet
search will provide simple instructions. You can share links to the
unlisted videos with your students so they can practice.
If a video is set to public, anyone in the world can find it, and that
breaks our copyright policies. Videos breaking our copyright policies
may be removed without notice, and you may receive a strike against your
YouTube account, which can lead to cancellation of your YouTube account.
In addition, please include our writer credits/copyright information
(usually found on the first page of the music notation) in the rehearsal
video and remove the video after the performance.
Note that once a copyright claim has been made, simply switching to
unlisted will not cancel the claim. You will need to remove the video
and re-upload it as unlisted.
Videos of your students performing our songs may be set to public and
shared with anyone. Those videos will not be removed.
You can read our copyright policies in more detail here:

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
