Hey everyone,

I had to share our success with "The Principal and the Pea" by Mark Burr=
ows. It's listed as K-4 musical, but I did it with 5th. It was an inexp=
ensive, reproducible book/CD with easy but cute staging ideas. The speak=
ing parts are rhyming, Dr. Seuss type storytelling and the songs were cat=
chy and easy to learn. Our principal does happen to be leaving us, so it=
worked out even better, but that's not a necessary component. I had the=
classroom teachers act as the 'applicants,' which was exciting for every=
one. Lots of compliments from teachers, students and parents about how m=
uch they loved the show!
