For listening, Copland has something about a western town and it's based on=
traditional cowboy songs, if I am remembering correctly.   Sorry can't=
be more precise...
For singing, my fave was always "Leaving Old Texas", which used to be in th=
e series books (help me out, someone???).   It's a simple echo song tha=
t can be sung easily by lower grades but the older ones liked it too.  =
A simple clip-clop with non pitched percussion, or a clip-clop ostinato (i=
n the key of F major, I'd just do quarter notes C, D, C, D, etc.) on xylos,=
possibly with hard mallets, would be easy and effective.   If you play=
guitar, you could strum an easy accomp., or add an F Major chord on an aut=
oharp.

What do y'all use for "cowboy" music?

We just had a great puppet show at school based on a cowboy tale.  I want=
ed to back that up with some more music, but I jsut don't seem to have much=

What do you use for singing and listening?-------
