Jacqulyn, I have used the Peripoles for years also. I have tried 3 or 4 othersand always come back to the Angels. If the wish for the thumb rest is easeof playing position - height etc, - why not come up with a way to cinch upthe Halo that comes on the Angels? They have such a better sound and ofcourse are much less prone to squeak - as well as the lower notes D and Ccome out with less effort. I agree that the thumb rest is a big plus -better than thumb spots and of course they won't break like snap on/slip onthumb rests would - but overall if you really like the Angels and theyalready have the Halo which keeps them in the upright position when at restrather then an angle like the Macie, I would strongly consider finding away to tighten up the neck cord. Naturally you'd want it to not bepermanent so as to be able to remove it, but something adjustable behindthe neck or on each side. Not sure what that would be, though. Too lateto think straight on that one. And you yourself said it was a better buy.So unless you or your program/district is rolling in funds, that's worthconsideration also. Just an opinion and suggestion:)Rick CarterOn Mon, Sep 23, 2013 at 6:50 PM, Jacqulyn Wood wrote:> I have use angel recorders for years. I have never like the plastic> colored ones.
