Angie, RIght now I am rehearsing with my 6th graders with the musical Pos=
siblities. The play is getting closer and students are getting excited.=
They want to practice all the time now. THe last several weeks th=
ey were difficult to direct. 7th graders are preparing to perform =
for the Recorder concert in June. Some of them are better than others, b=
ut at least they are all trying. They are playing American Music ==l=
ike This land is your land, America the Beautiful. They are also ending =
with Lion sleeps tonight and Titanic theme song. ONce we go thru our mus=
ic we have a little fun. Either jumping on the ropes to music or folk da=
ncing . They really enjoy this. 8th graders have been working on their=
MOvie background music on Jam Studios. I can't get over how good they a=
re and so created. There stories are very interesting but good. These=
students would rather not sing. I try with them monthly but its not too=

ar General Music teacher in a K-8 school. I have middle school twice a d=
ay, 5 days a week. They are my worst hours of the day. For two years =
I have pulled my hair out trying to come up with a curriculum for them. =
We have watched musicals and had tests. I tried the Bach to Rock, I have=
tried Rock History and they SURE DONT want to sing! They do like playing S=
ingstar once a week and we have compeitions which they love. Im almost=
at the point that I just want to do busy paper work with them because they=
complain about eveything else. Does anyone out there have a successfu=
l 8-10 week curriculum or any ideas for 6-8th grade? I want to get every=
thing organized for next year with this group so there is NO dead time with=
