I would suggest World Music Drumming. There are classes this summer all ov=
er the country which I'm pretty sure you could still get into.....ask your =
principal for money to help you. They also offer great deals on drums and =
various percussion at these workshops, or you could just use those big wate=
r jugs. I'm telling you, it will transform your classes, and all of a sud=
den you have something to hold over their heads behavior wise....."if you c=
an't follow the rules in here, you can't play the drums"....it will work, e=
specially with middle school. This curriculum was specifically designed fo=
r middle school general music classes. I did it last summer and it was, wi=
th the exception of my Orff training, the BEST think I've ever taken.!!! =

If you can't do the class this year, at least get the first book and DVD ( =
I bet Plank road has it!) because if you read the book, and watch the DVD, =
at least you'll get a headstart...... =

I'm absolutely sure this would definitely work, kids that age LOVE to play =
things they can HIT!!! =
