Whacky Folk Fest
From Plank Road Publishing
by Teresa Jennings, Paul Jennings, John Riggio, and Karl HitzemannBoomwhackers® are fun! Kids love to play them and just can't get enough of them once they have started.
With that in mind, the creative writers behind Music K-8 magazine have worked their magic on these eight new settings of great American folk songs. All of the arrangements are carefully structured to work with young players, and while all are designed to work with one or more sets of Diatonic Boomwhackers® (C Major or Bass), some arrangements offer the option for the Chromatic Add-ons or have optional second parts to include more players and expand learning possibilities. Also, some of the arrangements come with two different parts: one simpler and diatonic, and one more complex.
All of the songs are included on the recordings, though some can easily be performed with just Boomwhackers® and simple classroom percussion. The recordings are of the highest quality, featuring world-class performers playing real instruments. Each song has a unique blend of traditional instruments, including a variety of guitars, Dobro, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, bass, and strings.
This unique collection includes:
- Oh! Susanna
- New River Train
- My Horses Ain't Hungry
- Little 'Liza Jane
- Sweet Betsy From Pike
- Hush, Little Baby
- Ring, Ring The Banjo
- What Do You Do With A Whacky Sailor?
Also, these great arrangements work well with any solo instrument, especially Orff and simple keyboard percussion instruments... and lyrics are provided for all songs!
