Me Song, The

From Plank Road Publishing

by Teresa Jennings

Your students will get a kick out of this amusing poke at narcissism. The real fun comes from exaggerating the egocentric attitude while singing. Add simple movements to increase the effect: kissing one's own hand, patting one's own cheeks adoringly, making "air" hearts, or other silly self-centered gestures. Using hand mirrors as props is also a naturally narcissistic, universally recognized symbol of vanity. Wouldn't this be a fun song to perform in a program? (from Music K-8, Vol. 19, No. 5)

(Run time: :48)
