Happy Today

From Plank Road Publishing

by Teresa Jennings

This light, pleasant tune is excellent for beginning guitar students. It has two guitar parts, though you do not need to use them both. Guitar 1 focuses on the B string and uses only the notes B, C, D, and E. Guitar 2 uses a 4-string G chord and suggests nothing harder than half note and whole note strums. While they are notated on the piano score, you'll find extracted parts included as well.

An optional vocal melody is included with this guitar piece. Have players sing along while they play, or have a select group sing while others play guitar. For added fun, the song breaks into a round (also optional) the second time. What more can you ask for in a beginning guitar tune? (from Music K-8, Vol. 23, No. 1)

(Run time: 1:10)
