Voccata #2 (Gloria)
From Plank Road Publishingby Teresa Jennings
Here's a chance for your older singers to show off a little! Though the subtitle of the tune (Gloria) is also the entire lyrical content, where the syllables fall in relation to the notes can make singing it a little challenging. Useful as a warm-up, a teaching tool, or a performance piece, this one will be a hit with your singers. Both parts are important, so neither is optional.
The recording only uses piano as accompaniment, so playing this one live will work nicely. You may even want to allow your singers to try it a cappella! Alter the pitch or tempo for fun or to add to the challenge. (from Music K-8, Vol. 15, No. 2)
