Rock & Roll Valentine
From Plank Road Publishing
by John RiggioThis is a tongue-in-cheek piece about a person who wants, nay, believes he deserves a valentine. This person believes himself to be the quintessential rocker du jour, worthy of all the attention and accolades that go with that position. In other words, this is a silly song.
"Rock & Roll Valentine" is an eighth note driven piece where the most prominent instrument is a double layer of grunge electric guitar. The vocal line is very simple and repetitive.
The piece features some amusing effects on the recording, as well as several spoken lines which your students may enjoy incorporating into a performance. (from Music K-8, Vol. 10, No. 3)
