Cast of Characters and Costumes

The cast for The Big Chill is quite flexible. You may use any number of Students and Teachers as space permits. If you are working with two classrooms, assign one to be the Teachers and one to be the Students. You may also try using a "multi-generational" cast, involving both students and faculty from your school.

• Weather Reporters: One or a small group of well-dressed reporters. Can be in front of a map of your area using pointers (opt.) or microphones.
• Students: Any number, dressed in fun, bright clothing. You may wish to select 2-3 specific colors for this group to wear (i.e., blue, yellow, and green).
• Teachers: At least 6 performers. Professionally dressed. Again, try selecting 2-3 specific colors for this group to wear (i.e., red, white, and black). If using students to perform these roles, you may wish to hang signs around their necks, indicating which teacher they're representing from your school.
• Coach: Male or female. Dressed in sweats, wearing a whistle and baseball cap.
• Bus Driver: Male or female. Dressed in warm jacket, plaid flannel shirt, jeans, wearing hat.
• Principal: Male or female. Use a student performer - or the real thing! Dressed professionally.
