Performance time: approximately 25 minutes

CAST OF CHARACTERS:

  • Readers: 6 total, male or female. Each speaks 3 stanzas of rhyming verse. Or, divide the stanzas among a few different readers (optional). Reader 5 raps over the introduction to song #6.
  • Postman: 3 short spoken lines. May be male or female, dressed in a traditional postal carrier's uniform with a letter collection bag over the shoulder. This would be a great "cameo role" for your school principal, superintendent, a favorite teacher, or even your actual local mail carrier. Minimal preparation and rehearsal is needed for this student or adult.
  • Soloists: There are 2 optional solos in song #3, and 6 optional solos in song #7. All are brief, but provide the opportunity to feature a few talented singers.
