Teacher's Guide

  • Für Elise - G, A, B, C, D - Beginner - good opportunity to teach "musical road signs" - repeats, 1st & 2nd endings, multiple measures of rest - mostly dotted half notes with quarter notes and a few eighth notes
  • Sonata (Pathétique) - G, G# (A flat), A, B, C, D - Advanced Beginner/Intermediate - Beginners CAN play this when you change all A flats to C - mostly quarter, half and whole notes
  • Rondo (from "Sonata" Op. 49 No. 1) - G, A, B, (B flat), C, D - Advanced Beginner/Intermediate - Changing the B flats to Gs will make this approachable by advanced beginners - LONG - 6/8 time with mostly eighth notes, slurs and staccato
  • Minuet - G, A, B, C, D - Beginner - mostly quarter notes with a few half and eighth notes thrown in
