Candle For Peace, A

Sweet and simple, this lovely tune begins with a series of short solos (full ensemble, optional) and then builds to a wonderful round. You can do a variation of this by having two or more sing the first phrase, and add singers to each phrase afterwards as you like. Last year, many schools used this work to stage a dramatic candle passing ceremony as they sung, a striking effect to watch. While it can be performed with piano alone, the recording is exquisite, thanks to the world-class string players we used. Be sure to hear the excerpt below. (from Music K-8, Vol. 15, No. 2)
