Crickets and summer bugs begin and end this little movement song, but you can use it any time of year that you want to encourage a bit of fun with your youngest singers. The first part of the tune is a folksy shuffle while kids sing, but it changes into a bluesy movement section, where kids pretend to do fun things, such as flying like an airplane or swinging their arms like a monkey. Let them use their imagination! The hardest part will be getting them to stop so they can sing again when the style reverts. (from Music K-8, Vol. 19, No. 5)
