Rocky Mountain

This is a unique old folk song with three thought-provoking verses. The song is a bit of a dichotomy. It is in major mode, and just as a melody, it is quite uplifting. But the lyrics are sad and mournful. Despite the sad lyrics, it's a joy to sing. (from Music K-8, Vol. 26, No. 4)
